Whangamata Golf Club has been an important part of our community for generations, providing a welcoming environment for golfers of all ages and abilities while contributing significantly to the social, recreational and economic wellbeing of the Whangamata area.

As a not-for-profit incorporated club, we continually invest in maintaining and improving our course, facilities and services to ensure members, visitors and future generations can enjoy a quality golfing experience.

Our vision is to be recognised as one of New Zealand's premier community golf clubs, offering exceptional golfing facilities, fostering participation across all age groups, and providing a welcoming environment that strengthens connections within the Whangamata community.

To achieve this vision, we must continue to invest in:

• Clubhouse and facility improvements

• Environmental and sustainability initiatives

• Junior golf programmes and player development

• Modern equipment and infrastructure

• Enhancements that improve the experience for members and visitors alike

The Importance of Community Support

Whangamata Golf Club is more than a golf course. It is a community asset that hosts sporting, social and community activities throughout the year.

While membership subscriptions and green fees contribute significantly to our operations, major projects and facility improvements often require additional funding support.

Community generosity helps ensure the Club remains financially sustainable while continuing to provide benefits for current and future generations.

How We Currently Raise Funds

The Club actively pursues a range of fundraising initiatives, including:

• Corporate sponsorships and partnerships

• Golf tournaments and fundraising events

• Donations from members and supporters

• Applications to charitable trusts and grant providers

• Community fundraising activities

• Special project funding campaigns

These initiatives play an important role in helping the Club maintain and improve its facilities.

Ways You Can Support the Club

Online Donations
Donations of $50.00 to $10,000.00 can be made via the payment link on our website under the Donate tab. Alternatively, they can be made directly to the Club's bank account:

Please include your name and "Donation" as a reference.

One-Off Project Donations
Supporters may choose to make a single donation towards a specific project or improvement. From time to time, the Club may identify priority projects where community support can make a significant difference.

Regular Giving
Many supporters choose to contribute through a regular automatic payment. Even small ongoing contributions can collectively have a substantial impact on the Club's future development and sustainability. 

Corporate Support
Businesses may wish to support the Club through sponsorship opportunities, event partnerships or project-specific funding initiatives. We welcome discussions with organisations interested in building a long-term relationship with the Club.

Testamentary Gifts (Gifts in Wills)

Leaving a gift to Whangamata Golf Club in your Will is a meaningful way to support the Club's future and ensure it continues serving the community for generations to come.

You may wish to discuss your intentions with your solicitor and consider one of the following options:

Percentage Gift
A gift of a specified percentage of your estate. 

Suggested wording: 
"I give ____% of my estate to Whangamata Golf Club Incorporated to be used for its general purposes, and the receipt of an authorised officer of the Club shall be a full discharge to my Trustees."

Residual Gift:
A gift of all or part of the remainder of your estate after all other gifts and expenses have been paid.

Suggested wording:
"I give the residue (or ____% of the residue) of my estate to Whangamata Golf Club Incorporated to be used for its general purposes, and the receipt of an authorised officer of the Club shall be a full discharge to my Trustees."

Pecuniary Gift
A gift of a specific sum of money.

Suggested wording:
"I give the sum of $________ to Whangamata Golf Club Incorporated to be used for its general purposes, and the receipt of an authorised officer of the Club shall be a full discharge to my Trustees."

We recommend all testamentary gifts are discussed with your legal adviser to ensure your wishes are properly reflected in your Will.

Confidential Discussions

Anyone interested in making a donation, discussing a major gift, supporting a specific project, or considering a testamentary gift is welcome to contact a Board Member in confidence.

Alternatively, please contact the Club's Operations Manager who will be pleased to assist and direct your enquiry appropriately.

Every contribution, regardless of size, helps support the ongoing success and future development of Whangamata Golf Club.
