COACHING & REPAIRS
TheGolfShack owned and operated by Josh Alderton works closely with the Whangamata Golf Club to provide accessible coaching and repair services to all golfers.
Private lessons are available on Monday’s and Friday’s utilising both the Titoki and Williamson courses.
40 Minute Lessons ($80)
Refresh your golf game with a 40 minute lesson that aims to acutely focus on a new skill or an old lingering issue. Perfect for all ages and skill levels. Choose to target an area of your game or a certain shot type and begin to upgrade your attributes.
90 Minute Playing Lessons ($150)
Playing lessons that can reach 9 holes depending on pace of play. Unlock the ability to save shots with an on-course lesson and understand course management. Get practical tips while completing holes and targeting areas that can be improved. A great way to practise while you play and gain a mental edge to start saving shots during a round.
40 Minute Junior Lessons ($50)
An introduction to golf for the next generation. Players can be at an introductory level or trying to take the next step in their youthful career. Basics of the game, tidying up possible bad habits, course management and etiquette can all be covered.
Players must be under the age of 18 at time of booking.
2 Person Lessons are available on enquiry
Please note : Lesson location may be moved to the Williamson Golf Course if weather or course availabilty changes.
Junior Golf
Our Junior Golf Program is run at the Williamson Golf Course from 3:30pm on Monday’s during school terms. TheGolfShack is working with Michael Wickham, our current Junior Golf Manager to provide junior coaching. Volunteers are welcomed as the group continues to grow, please contact the Whangamata proshop with any questions. There are also Sunday afternoon competition tee times at Williamson from 3:00pm for junior members during school term time.
Beginner Ladies
Our Sip and Swing Program introduces ladies to the game of golf in a relaxed environment with likeminded players. These events are run at the beginning and end of each calendar year. Beginner ladies' clinics are then made available throughout the year for up to 10 players per session. Details of these clinics will be communicated via email from the Whangamata Golf Club.
Club Fitting
The Whangamata Golf Club alongside TheGolfShack offers club fittings with the new Callaway Golf range, keep an eye out for future details or contact thegolfshacknz@gmail.com with any questions.
Repairs
All regripping, reshafting, small repairs and club maintenance work can be provided by the TheGolfShack, located in town, however clubs can be delivered and picked up from the Titoki Pro Shop. A range of grips for you to select from are available to view in the Pro Shop.
Custom grips may also be ordered upon request.
